Join us as usual for July's Codeup Chester session on the 3rd Tuesday of the month (Tuesday 17th July) 7pm at Storyhouse on Hunter Street, Chester (the reading room on the first floor).

Codeup Chester is suitable for anyone from complete beginners, who have never written a line of code, to experienced developers.

This month we are providing an environment for a learner-led drop in session, where there is no set agenda or workshop.

This is an awesome opportunity to take that first step into finding out more about programming, hack away at side projects, or meet with other newbies, developers & techies.

If you're a complete beginner, have a think about what you might want to learn or get out of the session.

If you're working on something right now, please consider sharing it with us!

Further Information

What is CodeUp?

CodeUp Chester is a mentoring program for adults who would like to learn how to code for free. Once a month we provide a workspace for people with no programming skills to come and learn the basics, with mentors available to answer your questions and help you on your way.

Our sessions are also be suitable for people with basic skills who need support to develop them, and even for people with intermediate or advanced skills who just want to come along to a space where everyone is immersed in code!

Where will the session be held?

CodeUp Chester meets at Storyhouse on Hunter Street, usually in the meeting room. If you need help finding us once you're here ask someone with a Storyhouse lanyard or t-shirt to point you in the right direction.

What do I need to bring with me?

Your own computer preferably, but if you can't bring one we will try to buddy you up with someone else.

Opportunities

We're always looking for people who would like to get involved with CodeUp Chester behind the scenes. If you've got some ideas or expertise to share (or even just some time and energy!) get in touch for more information.

If you’d like to deliver a workshop or talk either as an individual or to represent your organisation or group, we are now taking submissions! This could take any form you like and could literally be on any subject that you think might benefit our community, whether it’s about job opportunities, your experience, certain languages or methods, or anything else! Just bear in mind that your talk/workshop should be as accessible to beginners and learners as possible.

If you’re interested, please email codeupchester@gmail.com or send a message on meetup with a short description of what you’d like to do, including details of any special equipment, space or other requirements you’d need to deliver the session.

We hope to see you soon!
