Look for the #barcelona-chapter to connect with others in the codebar Barcelona chapter. If you need further help in between workshops you can ask in the #barcelona-chapter channel, or look for the #helpdesk channel to connect with coaches from the entire codebar network.
Codebar is a non-profit organization that runs regular free coding meetups for women and members of the LGBTQ community. It originally started in the UK, and we now have a chapter in Barcelona. Students learn to code through 1 to 1 coaching sessions. This time we are hosted by Barcelona Code School.
The meetup is for the students of all the levels and total beginners are always welcome.
The workshops are a great way for students to get help with coding in a safe welcoming place. They are also a great way to informally be mentored by working developers. Many of our students have found it very useful to be able to see the office of different companies in Barcelona and learn about the tech stack that the company is using, as well find out about the projects that they are working on. It's also a great way for students to hear about job openings at different companies.
Attend codebar as a student. Is there anything you should do before signing up?
Codebar is about getting people excited about programming. If you are an absolute beginner, feel free to join us. We will help you learn some basic coding skills as well as help you explore more resources. If you are signing up as a student, we suggest that you bring a laptop as it will be easier for you to carry on working on things after the workshops. If you don't have a laptop, send us a message so we can try and help out. Make sure that you RSVP either through the meetup page or (https://codebar.io/barcelona) https://codebar.io/barcelona

The tutorials are open source so if there is something that you want to improve open an issue on the GitHub repository or send a pull request. We don't expect coaches to be familiar with all of the technologies and languages we have material on.
