Machine learning in iOS apps: what is possible today?

Mobile devices excel at integrating a wide array of technologies, from sophisticated camera, to real-time location services, fast internet connection, and more recently, machine learning. It is now possible to classify dozens of images per second in new devices with machine learning models running directly on dedicated hardware. This enables a new generation of use cases and products. How far can we push this technology and what are the obstacles and limitations? How much specific domain knowledge is needed for good results? We will explore these questions with practical examples.
