Escape the 9-5: 3 Guest Speaker Event
Have you ever wondered what's waiting for you outside the security of the 9-5 job?
Are you looking for a career change but don't know what are the available options and opportunities out there?
Do you have something you are passionate about but don't know whether it can make enough money for you to survive?
Then this is a good event for you!
This event aims to:

share with you the possibilities outside the regular 9-5 job

inspire you to follow your own heart and dreams

provide a chance for you to meet other people who are looking for a change or have started the process of leaving the 9-5 job.
We have invited 3 speakers to give short presentations about how they found the courage to follow their hearts and passion to leave the 9-5 job and start something on their own.
Speakers
Alisha Ivelich

Alisha is an American living and working in Tokyo since 2009. She works at a university-level proofreader and editor and also hosts a popular video series at EnglishClass101.com.
She is also a food writer for Metropolis Magazine, and the co-organizer of a Tokyo-based international potluck party.
Her talk will give an introduction to her approach to working beyond the 9-5, including her strategies for decision-making, identifying opportunities, and maintaining motivation.
She'll describe the tools uses on a daily basis, discuss some of the problems she has encountered (and how she solves them), and share her philosophy towards projects as learning experiences.
Kaori Funaki

Kaori creates pop and artistic knot art envelopes (mizuhiki) that expresses the sender’s fullest expression of congratulations and gratitude. She started learning about Mizuhiki in 2010 and in 2015, she started selling her art work on Minne and Creema (online retail sites) and in February 2017, her work was featured on cover of the magazine “Web Designing” (She will be presenting in Japanese)
Luuvu Hoang

Luuvu Hoang is a Vietnamese American. Grew up in Seattle, Wa. His love of food, photography, and travel in pursuit of his passions led him to Japan in 2014.
Since then, he's worked work various international food publications as a food photographer, consulted for various restaurants in Tokyo, started his own Food Truck company (Mobile Canteen), and a Food Truck Community space (Canteen Station).
He will share stories of his experiences and that failure is only the beginning.

Alan's a wannabe master home chef. He loves home cooking so much that he holds food events called Put It On a Plate dedicated to home-cooked meals. When he's not appreciating food, he's helping companies globalize. He and his food compadres, Emi (she bakes like a boss) and Ayumi (the vegan foodie), will help you forget your 9-5 job by satisfying and inspiring your tastebuds with delicious, light refreshments.

They will be preparing an assortment of homemade hummus and eggplant dips with pita bread; cheese pie stick; bean salad; apple and cinnamon muffins; coconut and oatmeal cookies; baked cheesecake.

このイベントの趣旨:
1）8時間労働のしがらみから抜け出す方法をシェアする。
2)あなたが本当にやりたいことや夢を実現したいと思えるイベントにする。
3）同じように8時間労働から抜け出したいと思っている人や、既に始めている人達と出会う機会を提供する。
今回は3人のゲストスピーカーを招いて、どのように自分の正直な気持ちに向き合い、8時間労働から1歩抜け出す勇気を持つことが出来たのか、短いプレゼンテーションを行ってもらいます。
ゲストスピーカー:
Alisha Ivelich
Alishaは2009年より東京に暮らし、働いているアメリカ人です。彼女は大学レベルの校生・編集者として働いていて、EnglishClass101.comという人気のYoutubeチャンネルの司会でもあります。彼女の話からは、意思決定のための戦略、良い機会の見分け方、モチベーションの維持など、8時間労働を超えて活動する為の彼女のアプローチの仕方を話してもらいます。また、彼女が日常的に使用しているツールの使い方や、彼女か遭遇したいくつかの問題について、また、それをどのように解決したのかも紹介してもらいます。そして、彼女の経験から、プロジェクトへの向き合い方や彼女自身の理念・哲学を皆でシェアします。

Kaoriは送り手のお祝いや感謝の気持ちを最大限に表現する水引アーティストです。従来の水引のイメージを覆す、ポップな色使いやデザインが人気です。 彼女は2010年から水引について学び始め、2015年にはMinneとCreema（オンライン小売サイト）にて作品の販売を開始し、2017年2月には「Web Designing」誌に彼女の作品が掲載されました。

Luuvu Hoangはシアトルで育ったベトナム系アメリカ人です。彼の食べ物・写真に対する愛情、そして自分の好きなことを追求する自分探しの旅で2014年に日本にたどり着きました。それ以来、彼は料理専門のカメラマンとして、様々なインターナショナルに料理・食べ物に関する出版物に携わり、東京の様々なレストランのコンサルティングをしています。そして自身のフードトラックの会社（Mobile Canteen）、フードトラックコミュニティスペース（Canteen Station）を立ち上げています。彼の経験を通じたストーリー、失敗は成功の始まりに過ぎないことを伝えてもらいます。
