This is a meetup for beginners to R. I'll cover the basics of R (Hello World, vectors & dataframes), introduce data visualizations in R, and show how you can create an interactive app in R (Shiny). No prior knowledge of R necessary.

If you're new to programming in R, this is a meetup for you.
If you want to review programming in R, this is a meetup for you.
If you want to learn about what R can do without coding at all, this meetup may be a little technical for you.
If you already know R and have analyzed data in R and you're comfortable with dataframes in R, this meetup will probably be too easy for you.

Prior to arriving for the workshop, please be sure to register for Big Data University (link ( We will use R on BDU Labs, which allows you to code in R within your browser.

Audience: Beginners in Data Science
