Tour Jamaica Plain Cohousing (Boston)
Visit the only (so far) cohousing neighborhood in Boston proper, close to the T and the Jamaicaway bike route. Discover why people love living together in sustainable community, blending privacy and neighborly connections, your own kitchen with regular common meals. Meet cohousers young and old, tour the extensive Common House and yard, and map your path to community living. Learn about current and future openings to rent and buy in community. This tour repeats: the second Saturday at 2 PM, and the fourth Sunday at 10 AM. Be sure to check the date for the one you are RSVPing to. About JP Cohousing We are delighted to have you over to our virtual home! Cohousing is more than just a house-- it's a way of living that makes it easy for you to meet neighbors, make friends, find playmates for the kids, attend parties, or find a movie group. We are situated in the artistic Brookside area of the socially and environmentally-conscious neighborhood of Jamaica Plain in Boston. In addition to individual fully-equipped units, cohousing members share and enjoy many large common areas because living in cohousing means valuing a sense of community. Our shared facilities include a huge dining hall where we host dinners, parties, and social events; a cozy living room where we show movies and host various clubs; a toddler room for young kids; a rumpus room with exercise equipment, ping-pong and a home theater; office space and meeting room; a laundry room; a large indoor bike storage area; and craft studios. Truly, living in cohousing offers the best of city living, bringing together a diverse and vibrant group of people who value individuality and a sense of community. Learn more at www.jpcohousing.org

What we're about

Living in cohousing can be compared to life in a village, where you know all your neighbors, often chat and get together for work and play, and yet have your own privacy. If you're new to the concept of cohousing, this is a place to find out more. If you are a cohousing group member, let's get acquainted, share stories, discuss common cohousing concerns, find new members, and plan visits to area communities. Most of all, let's get together and make new friends!

This MeetUp is made possible by the Cohousing Coaches (http://www.CohousingCoaches.com/), Planning for Sustainable Communities.
