What we’re about

See all- (Re)Discover IntelliJ IDEA’s Secret Weapons: File and Live TemplatesPraxis Coimbra, Coimbra
In a world where discussions center around making every engineer 10x more productive,
it's easy to wonder whether we need to jump on the bandwagon of the latest hyped productivity tools.
Engineering tools remain as complex as ever—and IDEs are no exception, especially IntelliJ IDEA.Join me as we revisit features that have been around since the early days of IDEA, and explore how they can genuinely
boost our productivity. Let’s (re)discover file templates and learn how to use them to consistently and correctly
bootstrap new code—every time.Power through repetitive tasks with live templates, reducing those to just a few keystrokes. Trust me,
you’ve used both of these features before. These unsung heroes support us daily, and with a bit of customization,
they can do even more—tailored exactly to the needs of your project.Speaker: Filipe Valeriano
I'm a mathematician turned software engineer, a lifelong gamer, and a passionate music enthusiast.
I've been working as a Java developer for over a decade and currently serve as a Principal Software Engineer at Tripadvisor. I love sharing knowledge and teaching—it's one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey in tech.
I proudly consider myself "lazy"—the good kind. I resonate deeply with the Bill Gates quote:
"I choose a lazy person to do a hard job. Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it."
To me, that means always seeking efficient, elegant solutions to complex problems.
