Part 4 of a 10-part Evening Business Primer discussion vignette series, each serving as a short introduction to the Small Business Boot-Camp business education series. Participants will be introduced to the terms, concepts and principles of Quality. As well, they are introduced to the tools and methodologies involved in improving the quality of products, services and processes within their business. The vignette includes basic introduction to quality standards within Services, Manufacturing, Government, and Not-for-Profit organizations with focus on simple, practical and effective tools that are readily applied in the workplace.

Geoff Strotmann is an experienced, competent and results driven professional with over thirty years of experience in the areas of business analysis, quality control, operations management, risk management, program management, and strategic sourcing. He has a strong focus on alignment of business strategy with both supportive infrastructure and repeatable processes.

As a consultant, Geoff’s specializes in business planning, corporate governance, risk mitigation and process review and optimization. Geoff is equally comfortable with local and global opportunities, and has spent his career creating and maintaining strong alliances with internal and external business partners, and in focusing his efforts and energy on the end-customer or business goals of the organization.

A big picture thinker, Geoff is both business and tech savvy which enables him to easily converse and connect with a broad range of contacts. Further, Geoff's leadership style as a strong coach and mentor compels others to actively participate in making things happen.

Geoff has been employed by major corporations such as Toromont Industries, Westinghouse and General Dynamics. Geoff’s business experience also includes progressive roles in product design, quality, global tech transfer, program management, manufacturing operations, NPI and engineering to manufacturing transition, embedded Customer support, supply chain group development and global strategic supply chain management.

Geoff values giving back to the local business community and does so through round-table discussions at CollabSpace, and with Small Business Association Canada as V. P. Events and Networking as well as through his part time role as professor in the Algonquin College School of Business, where he currently teaches Quality Basics for Business, Logistics and Transport and Strategic Supply Chain courses.
