What we're about

So I got tired of sorting through group after group and having a hard time finding one I connected with a lot. I realized I’m really trying to make friends as an adult which is super hard! Let’s admit it. I decided to make a group for anyone out there just looking for some people to talk to and maybe get a beer with either virtually or in real life again some day. I’d like to keep meetups varied on topics and while I may have listed some here like true crime, movies, podcasts, tv, etc please feel free to join if your interests are different because this is mostly about finding new friends.

The point of this group is to find small patches of common ground and connect over the weird things we love. Do you enjoy BASE jumping? Amazing! Teach the rest of us about it. Excited about the next hockey season coming up? Force some of us to watch a game with you. Do you love all things true crime? Great, we’re coming over to your place to watch Forensic Files.

Let’s go back to the days when we had friends not because we all liked the same thing, but because we enjoyed each other’s company and we knew it was important to try new things for our friends because it makes them happy. If you come with an open mind and a good attitude then you’re welcome.

Cute Critters🐿 & Hiking🥾 @ Talbert Nature Reserve Trail🌿

Get some fresh air and good energy from Fairview Park, a public park with diverse greenery, a pond, plus a pedestrian trail system & biking area. The Talbert Nature Reserve Trail is a 6.3 mile moderately trafficked loop trail that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, trail running, and birding and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

We'll cut through Fairview Park and walk the trail clock-wise, step down the short flight of stairs into the shaded garden area for a quick rest and watch the many cute critters munching on the grass, then head back up the trail to the park's exterior and feel rejuvenated. 😌

This is a mostly flat hike with very minor elevation. We’ll be going at a casual pace.

Parking is free but if it gets too crowded there’s space available at the high school next door, at your own risk of towing.
