TOURNAMENT PLAY
MAIN w/ PROGRESSIVE CONSOLATION

Come early and support this new venue. Food and beverages can be purchased throughout the evening, and of course during the pre-tourney Chouette!

You must be a member of the U.S. Backgammon Federation to play in club tournaments. Basic USBGF membership is $45 per year (donation). However, if this is your first time, please join us without registration. WHEN: 2nd Wednesday of the Month.
WHERE: The Dam Grille - 8000 E. Quincy #1500, Denver CO 80237.
TIME: Registration closes at 7:00pm MDT, play begins at 7:15pm MDT.
DETAILS: $20 entry fee with optional $20 Side Pool. Guaranteed two matches; Main with Progressive Consolation.
MATCH LENGTH: 7 Point matches for the Main, 5 Point matches for Consolation.
CLOCKS: Clocks are REQUIRED and will be available to borrow if you don't have one. Clock settings are 2 Minutes per point and 12 seconds Delay, which should be plenty of time.
DONATION: $10 (or 5% rounded to the nearest $5, whichever is >) of total entry fee and side pool from tournament will go towards Meetup, Websites (ColoradoBackgammon.com and DenverBG.org), future tournaments and the continued outreach for new players.

If you'd like to play, please register on Meetup. Even if registered, payment is required by 7:00pm or you will not be included in the tournament.

Win with Grace / Lose with Class / Play with Passion

This event is league play, with one point awarded for showing up and 1st place also getting points equal to number of attendees, and 2nd half that number. The points leader at the end of the year gets FREE ENTRY to the 2025 Wild West Shootout!

Beau Jo's doors open at 11. Registration begins at 11:30. Try to arrive and register by 11:45 so we can begin play at 12:00. The event is approximately 3 hours. It can be more if you keep winning, or less if you lose. You're always guaranteed at least 2 matches.

We aim to have two levels of play:
1. Intermediate and Advanced players: $10
2. Beginner and Novice players: $5
Often there are not enough players for two divisions, and we'll all play together. 100% of entry fees will be returned to the prize pool, and pay out to the top 2-4 players (depending on number of participants). There may be a side pool for those itching to put a little more on the line.

Also, side matches, chouette, and money games can be played.
Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience. If you are new, this is a great way to learn!

Clocks are preferred. Bring one if you have one. If playing on a clock is a turnoff, you don't have to play on a clock.

Parking is normally available on College Ave or surrounding streets. There is also a city parking garage just south of Beau Jo's, which is free on Sundays.

A few of us occasionally get together to play for fun at Illegal Pete's or Wolverine Farm. Let me know if you want to be notified when we do.
