Jira and Dynamics Finance and Operations with Power BI

Moving this to the last Tuesday of October to meet schedules. Two great presentations this month!

Christopher Antos will be presenting "Expanding Jira Reporting through Power BI". Jira is leading project management and issue tracking tool. However, once tickets are created in Jira, there are limits to what one can natively do with Jira Dashboards. Colors and themes are limited to those allowed by Atlassian. The data itself is often missing features such as returning usernames and lacking durations for various fields. At the same time, other insights might be found by using text analytics on the Jira data itself. Here is an introduction into a few tools available to get data out of Jira, create custom theming in Power Bi, and use topic modeling to group similar the Jira issues.

Greg Deckler will be presenting "Power BI Dashboards for Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations". Businesses today collect mountains of data about their day to day operations. In the rapidly changing economies of today, they need systems and tools to allow them to analyze and react to that data quickly and efficiently. By leveraging the power and efficiency of the Common Data Service, Power BI is the perfect tool to help businesses analyze their data in a way that provides real, actionable direction to shape their business practices and environment. In this session we'll walk through setting up the Entity Store and creating a Power BI dashboard, which we will then embed into our Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations system.
