What we're about

The goal of Columbus Tactical Arts is to train people in reality-based tactical defense. Our concern with reality-based self-defense exists to develop the skill necessary to adequately protect yourself and your loved ones in any scenario; as well as improving our students as better people to help stop fights before they start. Our adult program serves to provide our students (aged 16 and up) with the martial skill needed to survive anything, and our teen program exists to teach basic skills to prepare for the adult program, and more critically to develop the character needed to use the respective martial skill wisely. Our primary system Counterpoint Tactical System, also known by the acronym CTS, is a weapon-based integrated martial art designed for the street with an emphasis on real-world tactical counter offense. Although an eclectic martial art, the Counterpoint Tactical System's largest traditional influence can be found in the Filipino Martial Arts. The purpose of CTS is to train and certify students and instructors, making them well versed in every phase of civilian armed and unarmed combat. Counterpoint Tactical System is unmatched in the fighting arts for its span of techniques: covering punching, kicking, trapping, long-range and short-range weapon applications and defense, stand-up grappling, and ground fighting. One other major aspect of CTS is its approach to a tactical mindset to train students with the assumption that opponents are well trained and so students should be prepared as such. Techniques used in CTS are becoming increasingly more common, especially in modern action movies such as: the Taken trilogy, the Bourne trilogy, and John Wick movies. CTS schools across the country also frequently hold seminars with law enforcement with a consideration for realistic tactics for the worst possible scenarios.

We strive to provide the best martial art instruction in the Columbus area for the best price to teach people the wonderful skill of self-defense and all willing parties will be welcomed into our school.

Currently, we have no reserved place to train. We are looking for suggestions from potential students and are prepared to make accommodations as needed to provide training to anyone interested.
