NEED TRAVEL ROUTE ADVICE

From: user 1.

Hey all,

My close friend and lifelong riding buddy, John, sent an email request. He and his wife will be visiting on his bike from back east. He's looking for an alternate route to Arizona that would not involve staying in Fort Stockton. Does anyone have experience riding this part of Texas?

Here's the text of his message:

We would rather not stay in Ft Stockton this time, so I've been looking at an alternate route.
I would appreciate it if you could ask your club members about a route going from San Marcos to Del Rio and then taking US 90 to Alpine, TX.
After a night stay in Alpine, continuing on US 90 to I-10 and El Paso.
It looks pretty desolate, but goes thru the county seats of Sanderson and Van Horn.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Jon Olsen
