Title: The Journey Beyond the Page Object pattern

Many people who use Selenium/WebDriver (often found behind Cucumber-JVM) will have employed the Page Object pattern as a way of reducing duplication and brittleness of GUI-test code. Unfortunately, as a test suite grows and we face testing more sophisticated web applications, limitations of the Page Object pattern begin to surface. Tests become harder and harder to add, code duplication begins to grow and, in an age of dynamic, AJAX-based, Javascript enhanced GUIs, what is a “page”? In this session, Antony Marcano will talk about the origins of an alternative pattern he identified and support Jan Molak and Kostas Mamalis discussion of how the pattern has evolved, been named and proven in a large, financial institution.
