Has your high school band instrument been collecting dust in your closet? Did you used play clarinet, trumpet, sax, or flute and haven't played a note in decades? Want to recapture the fun of playing music together with like-minded people? Then the Dedham School of Music's Community Band is for you!
DSM Community Band is made up of individuals of all generations who get together once a week to learn and re-learn how to play, challenge, and get joy out of creating music. Just like Planet Fitness, it is a judgement-free zone, where the main goals are fellowship and good, old-fashioned, ensemble playing.
Led by band director Jeff Daniels, DSM Community Band played three concerts in its first year, including opening for the BC Symphonic Band at the Boston Hatch Shell!
We are always looking for new members. Dues are $100 per year, $80 for students. Not sure if it's for you? Stop by for a couple of weeks and see if it feels like a fit. We would love to play some music with you!
Rehearsal takes place weekly in our classroom at the Mother Brook Art and Community Center. Most of our members have busy lives, so it's normal to miss practices occasionally. Please contact us before dropping in so we can confirm the date and time for you.
