What would happen if instead of focusing on "getting through labor" we focus on enjoying labor? What if everything surrounding birth, pregnancy, and motherhood happened just as we imagined? When you  are educated, supported, trust your bodies, and willing to work through your fears, pregnancy and motherhood can be one of the most amazing times of your life. This is a refuge where you can feel appreciated, supported, and understood.

I have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and can offer different skills than other pregnancy and parenting groups throughout the community. Additionally I am a new mother and will be going through the experiences with you. I began this group because I am using my educational background to help with the daily stressors of my changing body and lifestyle and I thought it would be wonderful to share my knowledge and experience with others. My goal is to help you develop the tools of relaxation, meditation, mental and physical wellness, and sense of empowerment as you navigate this amazing process.

This group is for mothers or mothers-to-be who are interested in reducing their overall stress (good thing to do pregnant or not), connect to your changing body as well as address all the fears and anxieties that come with raising children. We will be using mindfulness and relaxation techniques such as using your breath to help you develop a greater awareness of your body, mind and spirit, the beautiful life that you have helped create. You will discover your inner strength and determination. Meditation and breathing techniques will help you cultivate mindfulness and concentration which will come handy during labor and delivery and all the trials of motherhood! I will also bring up current events concerning pregnancy and parenting and create a welcoming space to discuss challenges or successes that come with being a mother.
