What we're about

How to become the best Photographer you can be! This meetup presents Composition, Practical Experience, Review and Post Processing in a Theme oriented approach.

The objective of this group is to make us all better photographers. We look at the image from the initial concept (gee, that looks like it would be a good picture), the composure of the picture (would it look better if I was a little left, right, higher, lower, cross-ways?), the snapping of the picture (all the mysterious exposure modes, light balance, flash, . . . ) through post processing (now that I have the picture, what can I do to make it better).

We have a variety of members from newbies with point and shoot cameras to serious enthusiasts with thousands of dollars of cameras, lenses and software. We all share a passion for learning how to create even better images. Everyone brings a unique perspective that we all can learn from.

Bring your questions to the meeting to add to the discussion of the subject!

As our banner shows, Covid-19 hospitalizations are going the right way. The consensus is masking, social distancing, and vaccinations are kicking in. My guess is we will probably see an evil bump shortly after Easter. But the trend is going the right way. We can probably resume meetings in the August time frame. In the pole barn?

In the mean time—Get Your Vaccination! There is no "Best Brand". The only two features under consideration are:

1. None of the vaccinations will prevent you from getting sick from Covid-19.

2. All of the vaccinations will prevent you from getting dead from Covid-19!

After vaccination, at worst Covid-19 infection turns into a two week bout of the flu—with no after effects (AKA Long Termer). There have been no reports of hospitalization or death after vaccination.

We will need to keep our mask and social distancing up for the foreseeable future. This will halt the transmission and minimize the mutation of the virus.

In closing . . . one other thought: Last summer there were no reported cases of the flu in the southern hemisphere. This winter there have been no reported cases of the flu in the northern hemisphere. Studies are under way (of course) looking for the root cause. But so far the consensus is . . . Masks Work! Keep your mask up above your nose and below your chin!

If there is interest we may plan a trip to the Dallas Arboretum. That's assuming the flowers recover after the freeze. I will put a poll up.
