3D printing, CnC milling and laser cutting Session.
Visitors and newcomers are very welcome. A short walk from Glenferrie train station. Car parking at Hawthorn town hall. The main goal is to learn about and experiment with 3D printing, CnC milling and laser cutting. If you have a 3D printer, then you can bring it along and get help from many of our experienced members (or just show it off). If don't have a 3D printer, you're still welcome to attend. The HackerSpace has a range of tools (aside from 3d printers) that use CNC, including our mini-mill, laser cutter and the hackCNC project. We don't just cover 3D printing, but anything related to 3D design and manufacture. There are members with experience in scanning objects into 3D models as well as designing 3D objects in various CAD/SCAD/CAM applications. There is a Lathe on premises, a Laser Cutter, other (general) tools, plus the space itself has two 3D printers that can be used by members (to be shared) and a laser scanner. For details on what 3D printing is, see Please note: The space officially opens at 6.30pm, however many people arrive sometime after this, usually before 7pm. For any changes of opening time, please look at the mailing list.

What we're about

Public Group

CCHS (aka Melbourne HackerSpace) is an enthusiastic group of hardware hobbyists and/or software programmers, located in Melbourne, Australia. We enjoy getting together to build new and challenging technology projects and curious gadgets for fun! We meet several times every week and welcome visitors and newcomers who wish to make things and learn about technology, e.g 3D printers or robots. You don’t need to be an expert to participate. We are gradually accumulating equipment and tools, as well as the skills to use them.
