Hardship and Entrepreneurship: On Mental Fortitude

Details
Join us for an in-depth look at "The Hardships of Entrepreneurship."
As you know, we believe in telling it like it is -- and TRUTH ALERT: Building a company is hard.
To round out our year here at Building Consumer Goods, we wanted to chat with two experienced entrepreneurs about the under-told story of the hardship of the journey.
The goal is to gain a very real perspective about entrepreneurship, and what starting and growing a company actually entails. What is the good, but especially the bad, and the ugly?
We'll hear about fundraising, the emotional toll it can take on your personal life or family, leading a team while on the brink of going under...
We'll also touch upon the risks you're really taking, the support system you'll need, and what happens when your support system tells you it's time to call it quits.

Questions we'll discuss:
• What does it take to be an entrepreneur?
• What are the risks you’re taking by choosing to become an entrepreneur?
• What is the value of a support system? What if you don’t have one?
• How did you keep pushing through? Why do you keep pushing through?
• How did you convince yourself to keep going when others may tell you to quit?
Panelists
• Jules Pieri, Co-Founder at The Grommet (http://www.thegrommet.com)
Anyone who has observed Jules Pieri’s journey in building The Grommet might question whether she is truly visionary or possibly just crazy. But no one would question her being top of the pack for perseverance and bull headedness. Surviving Entrepreneurial Hardship is her top accomplishment. She has also been called the Queen of Rejection.
• Ben Rubin, Founder at Change Collective (http://www.changecollective.com) and Zeo (http://techcrunch.com/2013/05/22/sleep-tracking-startup-zeo-says-goodnight/)
Ben is an entrepreneur and a change junkie. His change path has taken him through diverse topics: Mindfulness meditation, Paleo, Crossfit, GTD, and many more. He previously co-founded Zeo - a pioneer in quantified self that helped people sleep. When kicking back you’ll find him skiing or hiking.
