“Fake News”
News and an independent press are a crucial part of a healthy democracy. The electorate needs good information to make informed decisions. What are the consequences of having fake news in our news mix? What is fake news? Is it possible to identify fake news so that consumers recognize it as such? Do we have a healthy media culture and if not what would a healthy media culture look like?
Join us to share your thoughts, experiences and insights -- in Manhattan's most beautiful Park!
Together with new friends, you'll discuss this stimulating topic on which we are all experts by virtue of our life-experience – but on which we can all learn from others with different backgrounds. This has been called "the most exciting participatory event in the City" by travel guru Arthur Frommer (Frommer's Travel Guides). It's the Thoughtful New Yorker's way to segue from the rigors of the work-week to the full enjoyment of the weekend! We welcome and celebrate the diversity of our beloved city.
Bring your supper if you like -- and possibly a treat to share with others in your group. If the weather is inclement, we will convene in the Bank of American atrium, on the corner of 6th Avenue and 42nd St.
FREE – but to secure a place and be notified of changes,
please register.
