Man-made Climate Change – is it trumped up?

Hot-hot debate: Piers Corbyn v Professor Piers Forster.

In this unique debate, we bring together two high profile scientists who share very different views on how humans are impacting our climate. Professor Piers Forster – one of the leading scientists involved when the IPCC was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize will take on Piers Corbyn, who is well known for his skeptical views, and considers that the main-stream theory of man-made climate change is deeply flawed.

Doors 10.30. Entry £3, £2 concs./free to Conway Hall Ethical Society members.

Tea, coffee & biscuits will be available.

@AlexD If this was a Moncton or Farage appearance, you might have a point. But... you don't. This is two scientists, both of whom are experienced in the subject matter. As someone who is only familiar with the science at a primary school level, I am extremely interested in this debate if only for the excellent Learning opportunity it offers.

Wikipedia has been evaluated as 96% accurate, the Encyclopedia Britannica at 98%. The Wikipedia article clearly shows Piers Corbyn has published NO scientific articles backing up his claims. His publication record is no better than mine on the subject.

Hi Everyone. It looks like this event has now sold-out for non-members of the Ethical Society. As we're hosting Sunday Assembly in the same building at the same time, it will be unlikely that we will be able squeeze any latecomers in. Prof Parker has offered to chair, and record the event for release later.

I really think that after all this time and the overwhelming weight of scientific evidence, those still denying the reality of man-made global warming should no longer be given the benefit of publicity or the gift of other people's time. They are just irrational contrarian ideologues. The rest of us should ignore them and get on with the essential work of tackling this issue, and not let these selfish egotistical wreckers slow us down any further. Their actions do damage. This "debate" should not be happening IMV.
