C/C++ Meetup 0x06 - C part of C/C++ !

Details

It has been too long since our last meetup, so I'm glad to organize a new meetup! Thanks so much to Claudio to wanting to present this time.
The focus this time, is perhaps not what we're used to, it's a C and Linux focused talk this time, it is after all both an C and C++ meetup!

This time, we will meet at the offices of TechPeople A/S, who have been very kind to offer a sponsorship of our meetup. We have room for 20 participants, so please update your RSVP / status as soon as possible.

The practical stuff

The meeting will take place at TechPeople A/S (Smedeholm 10, 2730 Herlev). Nearest station is Herlev station ( ~10 - 15min walk ) and busses 350s and 155 stop at Marielundvej (Herlev Hovedgade), (5-10 min walk from the office). Also, the site offers free car parking and covered bike parking. Please use the big glass door in the middle of the building to enter.

Program

19.00 - 19:10 : Welcome, find a seat.
19.10 - 19:15 : Short opening notes.
19:15 - 19:25 : Introduce our great host, TechPeople A/S

TechPeople A/S is a consulting firm specializing in delivering expert embedded and IT consultants to interesting clients in Denmark.

19:30 - 20:00 : Jens Schønberg will present: Network handling in Linux.

The talk will be about a walk-through of some of the C code which make up the network stack in a basic Linux system, the talk will go into how we move up lateral in the Linux Network stack, look into the C code and present how you can play around with making your own modifications.
This can be used for of course network programming, but also playing around with manipulating network messages.

20:00 - 20:30 : Break, pizza, soda and socializing.

20:35 - 21:00 : Claudio Cabral will present: Ftrace at Bang & Olufsen.

Linux provides many amazing tools for system analysis. In this talk we'll focus specially on Ftrace, a low overhead method of introspecting running systems without modifying code that can be used even in very constrained embedded Linux environments.

NOTE: I'm presenting this time, but if you want to present in any of the upcoming talks, feel free to reach out to me and we can look into it. Also if you're feeling a bit pressured at work even after saying yes, just let me know and I'll fill in for you, don't worry, we will all understand : )
