R workshop series: 6. Don't look back in anger
Details
Hello all,
We have now worked out way through readr, tibble, tidyr, dplyr and ggplot2 packages of the tidyverse. R isn't as mysterious as first thought and we're ready now to put into practice some of what we've learned.
This workshop will revolve around writing our own R scripts and planning our analyses to make them clear and reproducible in a week, in a month or in a years time. The biggest critic of any R script you write will be your future selves. It is worthwhile therefore to use best practices when developing your R scripts and R projects.
A: Learn about style/syntax do's and dont's together with building project folders to ensure your inputs and outputs are in the right place.
B: Take messy data set and build an R script from scratch to import, tidy, transform and visualise it using the tools learned in previous classes.
Note: Places this workshop are already allocated. If you wish to be notified of future workshops, send an email to b.palmer@ucc.ie to register your interest
