What we're about

Monthly meet-up for Corkonians to hang out and discuss all things JavaScript. This is just a bit of an informal chat with no speaker/presentation format but if you're working on something cool then feel free show it off! JS on the backend, JS on the frontend, interested beginners, and long-time pros. All are welcome. Come, hang out, and lets talk JS.

Location visible to members

Let’s meet and chat about your projects, JavaScript related topics, other languages, frameworks, web development principals, tech in Cork, other related topics. Bring a laptop if you can and show what you’ve been working on. Note: location may change on the fly, so please keep note of this page coming up to the event! Event can be as long as the discussions go on for (I left each event on for 3 hours to keep each event up). The event is designed for people working in tech and people aspiring to or who want to learn code for fun! All in keeping social distancing rules of course ! :) I am following the FreeCodeCamp tutorial program which I feel is one of the best to use as its open source and its a growing community: https://www.freecodecamp.org/ Other sources to check out are: Code Academy: https://www.codecademy.com/ PairUpToCode Exercises: http://www.pairuptocode.com/ Khan Academy (JS): https://www.khanacademy.org/ Code School: https://www.codeschool.com/ Eloquent Javascript: http://eloquentjavascript.net/ JS Assessment: https://github.com/rmurphey/js-assessment JavaScript 30: https://javascript30.com/ Tutorials Point: https://www.tutorialspoint.com/

Cork JS Zoom chat meeting

Online event

Bringing back weekday evening meetings, discussing the wonders of JavaScript! :) Gonna do this every week or two weeks. Will try this Thursday evening over Zoom at 7pm to see who is interested, keeping it at a maximum of 15 people only. If you can't make it, can you suggest another day you can do it? Just for future reference when organising meetings, it's good to know what suits everyone. I know in the past people seemed fine with Tuesdays and Thursdays. Also if anyone, wants to join as a host, I am open to it. :)
