Anyone who wants to improve and practice certain social skills, specifically: being comfortable having conversations and talking in groups, storytelling, standing up for themselves, confrontation and conflict, keeping conversations going should join this group.
This meetup is a practice group for people who struggle socially or even feel they can't function socially like others. Especially as Christmas is coming, it can be particularly difficult.
Just like a boxer trains to perform at a high level, this group is a practice social group where you will practice social skills with other members. The more you practice, the more your neuro associations will change, untill you will be comfortable with the specific social area you are struggling with.
Studies show that those who are good socially have a better quality of life than those who don't. If you can't hold your ground in a group setting, or stand up for yourself, you will keep going down in the hierarchy social scale humans automatically have with each other.
The group is more practical and practiced centered to train your brain to be comfortable in social situations.
The facilitator isn't a professional however he is studying an MA in psychology. He struggles socially himself and his aim is for this group to benefit many people who may be going through similar struggles.
I'm not claiming this group will "fix" anyone, however I do believe the more we practice something, the better we will become at it.
