Cork|Sec 104

Details
Running since June 2013, every month we have 2 talks focused on Security or Technology - followed by socialising with like minded people – and you can find out exactly what to expect on the About Us section of our Meetup page. Past talk details are on our wiki on http://corksec.com/. All people with any sort of an interest or level of knowledge in Security, Hacking and Emerging Technology are more than welcome to attend and feel free to bring like minded colleagues and friends. CorkSec is a free event (free as in beer, and as in speech).
Our talks come from our community so if you have an idea for a topic (anything for 10-60 minutes) please EMAIL US AT DEFCONCORK@GMAIL.COM . Whether you are an experienced presenter, or presenting for your first time - CorkSec is a great venue for it - and we are happy to help you prepare and mentor you.
During COVID pandemic, talks are taking place online via Microsoft Teams - but we will also be discussing when people want to go back to physical meetups too this time. Teams room opens at 19:00 with talks starting around 19:05. We'll be looking to go back to physical meetings when its safe and responsible to do so!
TALK 1: Building Operational Threat Intelligence - Kaushal Parikh
In this talk I will cover how to simulate, detect, share and strategize operational threat intelligence. Finally, I would also like to add a few points on how to build scalable operational intelligence.
TALK 2: Home-built Cyber Asset Attack Surface Management - Kalli Schlauch
Well at least a solid starting point ...
As there's a lot of talk around Cyber Asset Attack Surface Management (CAASM) and you might be desperately looking for something like an internal 'Shodan'. Often the approach would be to store NMAP scans into a SQL DB, however it is a lot more straight forward using 5 lines of Python with MongoBD. Even if not familiar with any of those, this talk is very introductory and I hope to show how things become easy once you use the right toolset
