We're excited to announce that Sujee Maniyam, founder and principal from Elephant Scale, will be sharing his insights and experiences with Apache Spark.

Apache Spark is a fast and general purpose engine for both large-scale data and stream processing. Mix built-in machine learning with Couchbase Server and you have a swiss army knife for real time data analytics. In this session you will learn about Apache Spark and how it fits into the Couchbase ecosystem.

Justin Michaels (, Couchbase Solutions Architect, will provide an overview of Couchbase and the Couchbase data pipeline.

Sujee Maniyam (, founder and principal from Elephant Scale (, will provide an introduction Spark, RDDs, Dataframes and Spark Streaming.

Our Speakers:

Sujee Maniyam is a seasoned Big Data practitioner. He teaches and consults in Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL and Cloud). He is an open source contributor and author of 'Hadoop illuminated (' (an open-source book on Hadoop) and 'HBase Design Patterns ('. Sujee is a frequent speaker at various conferences and meetups. He also advises and mentors various firms.

Justin Michaels. With over 20 years experience in deploying mission critical systems, Justin Michaels industry experience covers capacity planning, architecture and industry vertical experience. Justin brings his passion for architecting, implementing and improving Couchbase to the community as a Solution Architect. His expertise involves both conventional application platforms as well as distributed data management systems. He regularly engages with existing and new Couchbase customers in performance reviews, architecture planning and best practice guidance.
