SIMD is a lesser known parallelism feature of all mainstream CPUs. It is often overlooked when considering performance oriented technologies. In this talk, we will learn about the why, when and how of SIMD, using the ubiquitous SSE2 extensions. Performance gains will be demonstrated by converting a simple algorithm to SIMD intrinsics.
Philippe Michael Groarke will be giving this talk in English. This meetup will be held at Druide Informatique inc's salle Antidote at 1435 rue Saint-Alexandre, suite 1040. The doors are open between 6 pm and 6:30 pm. It is important to arrive before 6:30 pm as the main entrance is going to be locked after that time.
