Where Do You Meet?

This club will meet at Laurelwood Apartments Club House in Cranberry PA. There is a kitchen available to store food and drink. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink to meetings at our club house. We may also meet at other venues for special events, such as conventions or movie premieres. Please check the food/drink and cosplay policies for outside events by contacting the venue directly.

When Do You Meet?
Our main meeting will be Saturday or Sunday evening, typically from 5pm to 10pm. We will meet at least once a month, sometimes more.

Do I Need To RSVP?
Our clubhouse comfortably seats about 20 people. Events at our clubhouse will require an RSVP via the Meetup App. For events outside our clubhouse there are usually no space limitations so RSVP is optional for outside events.

How Much Does It Cost To Join Cranberry Geek Club?
It is free to join our group. There are no membership dues.

Meetings at our clubhouse are free of charge and open to the public.

Meetings outside of our clubhouse may require you to make a purchase such as buying tickets to enter a convention, or meeting for a movie premiere, dinner, brunch, or etc. There may be additional fees and requirements for these outside events. You will need to cover any of these charges as the club cannot help cover these costs

We do have a button on the meetup app for you to chip-in if you’d like to make a donation which will go towards covering our meetup fees, or buying food/drink games or other things for the club. – This is completely optional. We want to make fun free events that anyone can attend.

How Old Are Your Members?
We are an “Adult” geek club. Our members range from 20-60 years old with the majority being in their 20-40s.

We are not a daycare center, we ask that if you are not old enough to drive yourself to our meetup, that an adult must remain with you at all times.

While we welcome members of any age, some of our activities are not appropriate for small children. Many video games and anime can be too violent or deal with inappropriate subjects for small children.

Other Things To Know:
We are responsible for keeping our area clean to ensure that we can continue to have access to these facilities. Please clean up after yourself, including remembering to throw out or take home any of the left over snacks or drinks that you bring.

We will provide paper plates, cups, and napkins.

You are welcome to bring your own board games, video games, consoles, controllers, etc. but we have a large selection available for play also.

When it comes to video games, Kdrama, or anime, we only have one TV available to use in the clubhouse, and we will take a vote online the week before the meetup to determine what the TV will be used for at the next meeting. Once again, you can bring your own anime, games, or Kdrama, but please understand if we do not get a chance to watch or play what you bring.

We welcome you to Cosplay, or to bring any toys dolls or collectibles. We are a recast friendly Meetup group. If there is enough interest we can set up a table to display the toys and dolls, or set up some props for photoshoots. When it comes to cosplay, please do not bring weapons, even those made out of foam/plastic/etc. Just come as you are without the props – We’re all geeks and will still recognize who you’re cosplaying as :).

Your children are welcome at our meetups, but we will not make special accommodations for you or your children. You are attending a meetup understanding that there may be some objectionable content in the types of games or videos that are being played. Disruptive children and their families may be asked to leave if we feel the children are out of hand.

We may occasionally plan “field trips” or meetups to other events not hosted at the club house, such as attending a movie premiere, or going to a convention, ren-faire, or other geeky activity. We may also plan fun get-to-gathers that do not deal strictly with a geeky theme, such as a day at Kennywood, Phipps, or the Zoo. – Make sure you check ahead of time with any of those locations before planning to Cosplay as they may not allow costumes.
