Shooting Models in Flying Dresses Angelo Marani Fashion Concept (Morning)

Here, at long last is the highly requested flying dress photoshoot.

The original concept was to photograph several models in this Angelo Marani type of dress concept, with the dress fabric flying all around.

Some differences in my image is some of the shots will have the model flying in the air as well, or the fabric will be coming forward like the cape in the movie Spawn (http://youtu.be/NSoumRoNSt0?t=53s -at 57 second mark).

However, I don't have time to work with a designer on creating a dress that large (and I did ask the group for help and only one person stepped up). In actuality, those images are photoshoped, the dress was never that large, but I still wanted a large dress anyway. A lesson in practicality I suppose :-)

So now, instead, we are doing something that looks more like these, but in studio.

These are extremely easy to do, even without photoshop. If you do use Photoshop, that makes it easier for you to adjust the end result, but I'll be sharing how to get this in camera and will have a fan there so you can still get similar images with the dress at least.

We will have two models in studio on the day and we will need to help each other at the shoot get these images.

BUT I still need an assistant to help get materials before the shoot. If you can help, please let me know.

And you'd have to post the images on the group and credit the photos if you post elsewhere as well.

If you'd like to assist (that means you don't take pictures) as well, please let me know.

You are not officially registered for this shoot unless you have pre-paid. As usual, there are no refunds for no shows or if you cancel because of limited space.

Do we need to being our own lights?

    June 24, 2014

    • Jaus L.

Looks like cloudy and rainy. Would a speed light be enough?

      June 26, 2014

    • Ronald L.

Yes, a speed light and large modifier is enough (might have you bump up the exposure in post production).

This Shooting Models in Flying Dresses Angelo Marani Fashion Concept is very hard to put together, but I may schedule it for Saturday, June 28th in the morning. Will update you. Also will need one assistant to throw the dress (or the photographers can help each other).

    No spots available?

    October 25, 2013

    • Ronald L.

Just seeing what the interest is. There won't be many spots I don't think anyway, unless I open up the shoot in the afternoon only.

Wondering why the shoot has to start so early in the morning? Will coffee be available? LOTS of coffee?! :)

    October 25, 2013

  • Robert D.

Right, did you really mean 9 PM at night? Or was that suppose to be 9 AM in the morning?

    October 24, 2013

    • Ronald L.

Sorry, its to start in the morning. Not sure exactly what time.

      October 24, 2013

  • Valerie R.

It sounds like a really interesting and unique concept, Ronald. I can't commit at this point until I know the cost though. Also an afternoon would work better for me than a Sunday evening because I have to go to work the next day.
