  • Coffee & Conversation - "The Power of Fun" - Wednesday @ 11:00 AM EST (ON, CAN)

    Network event

From the comfort of your own space, you are warmly invited into dialogue with others and to discussing different topics each week while exploring some deeper questions along the way.

This Week's Topic - "The Power of Fun" (inspired by howtohavefun.com)

Q: Has the word "fun" lost its meaning because we use it too casually?
Q: Where is "fun" on your priorities list? Is it optional or essential?
Q: Can you describe someone you would think of as "fun"?
Q: What is true "fun" vs. fake "fun"? How might you define either?
Q: Can we only have "fun" when we are doing well?
Q: How can we use "fun" to help us cope better and do well?
Q: Are moments of true "fun" also when we feel most alive?
Q: What are some great ways to attract more "fun" in your life?

In this safe, inclusive, casual, and accepting environment, dialogue is encouraged over debate as each person has opportunity to share from their own diverse perspectives and experiences.

Folks in this group enjoy going beyond small talk, reflecting both inward and outward, helping build pathways for more peace and understanding in the world... and your voice matters! No particular set of beliefs (or creed) is required to be a part of this community-building activity. Diverse perspectives are welcome.

Whether to discover yourself amidst a community on a common journey or to find meaning among new friends, there is room at the table for you.

PLANT BASED NUTRITION isn’t a hard concept, but there are many concerns on a wide range of topics, including if obtaining a proper amount of nutrients is possible without animal foods. Our country has prioritized processed foods and a large amount of animal-based foods as being a part of the Standard North American diet, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

We have the ability to eat a whole foods, unprocessed diet without eating animals and obtain all the nutrients we need in the process. Wondering about where you’ll get your protein, calcium, iron, and B vitamins? No need!

Learn how to base your diet off whole foods, and how to eat a variety of vegetables, leafy greens, fruits, nuts, seeds, beans, and legumes. Jim & Janet will talk about how these foods contain a variety of nutrients that sustains anyone not eating animal-based foods and how it adds more fiber, phytonutrients, and antioxidants into your diet.

A whole foods vegan diet can give your body everything it needs, and here you can learn about some of the most common areas of concern, along with answers and information to explore, including a list of the most important nutrients you need and where to find them in a plant-based diet.
