What we're about

We are a group for those who yearn for a greater sense of belonging and crave deeper connections in life. Not only with others, but with themselves, the physical world around them, and the mysterious universe itself. It is an opportunity for people of all diversities to come together in unity and mutually explore experiences that build healthy communities.

"I had a great time conversing with everyone yet again!" -Shane K.

Creating connection can take on many meanings and look very different for each of us, and so we will utilize many fun and engaging models and practices in order to facilitate a good variety of options, such as...

- Conversation Cafés
- Walking & Talking Encounters
- TED Talk Discussions
- Retreats & Workshops
- Community Meals
- Taize Singing Circles
- Reading Groups
- Food & Nutrition Awareness
- Physical Mindfulness
- Kindness Projects
- Pizza & Games Nights
- Care & Compassion Programs
- Pay-it-Forward Initiatives
- Movies That Matter
- Zentangle Doodling
- Adult Colouring Therapy
- Thoughtful Card Making
- Repair Cafés
- Open Mic Reading Nights
- Free Listening Sessions ... and many others, open to your suggestions, interests and ideas.

As we journey together, encountering authentic and genuine connection, a more compelling picture can begin to emerge to help create a greater awareness of the inter-connectedness of everything.

Whether you feel it through your mind, your body, or your inner being, come find new meaning with us.

Conversations on Spirituality - 4th Tuesday of the month @ 7 PM EDT (CAN/US)

Link visible for attendees

Come see what Awakening Spirituality is all about and the kinds of things we like to discuss.

We will explore lots of fun spiritual topics with various guests and the night will flow wherever people want to go with their discussions and questions. Sessions will include small breakout groups for discussion.

Please feel free to make suggestions for topics that will be discussed. Bring all your questions. We love questions!! Check out the Awakening Spirituality website for scheduled topics.

May 24 - Topic: The Existence of God

Description: Many perspectives circulate about the existence of God, and many people are shunned for their beliefs. This month we will explore where we hold common thoughts AND where we differ, with questions like "Does God exist?", "What if we are wrong?", and "Why does it matter?" We look forward to sharing this discussion together and how it will shape our spiritual journey and worldview.

Rules of Play
Openly share your thoughts and perspective
Accept that others will have different thoughts
Watch for your own internal resistance to ideas that are different than yours
Self reflect on how your mind prefers your own opinion
Practice listening without judgment of right or wrong
Have fun and help to create a supportive and accepting environment

Presented by AWAKENING SPIRITUALITY, an online gathering for spiritual seekers to openly explore various spiritual topics, share knowledge, experience, understandings and even question in a safe, non-judgmental space. The focus is on dialogue and guidance rather than dogma or restricted thinking.

Coffee & Conversation - "I Found This Humerus" - Wed @ 11:00 AM EDT (ON/CAN)

Network event

Link visible for attendees

This Week's Topic: "I Found This Humerus"

Guest Facilitator: Amie Shepherdson

From the comfort of your own space, you are warmly invited into dialogue with others and to discussing different topics each week while exploring some deeper questions along the way.

Questions to help with the discussion:

  • What's something funny you've seen or heard recently?
  • What kind of comedy works or doesn't work for you?
  • When is something not funny?
  • When have you had to laugh something off?
  • Is there something universally funny?

In this safe, inclusive, casual, and accepting environment, dialogue is encouraged over debate as each person has opportunity to share from their own diverse perspectives and experiences.

Folks in this group enjoy going beyond small talk, reflecting both inward and outward, helping build pathways for more peace and understanding in the world... and your voice matters!

No particular set of beliefs (or creed) is required to be a part of this community-building activity. Diverse perspectives are welcome.

Whether to discover yourself amidst a community on a common journey or to find meaning among new friends, there is room at the table for you.
