What we're about

We are about experiencing everything in nature from insects to birds, from moss to trees. If it is out in nature we go exploring to see it. By learning about nature, being out in nature, we find we learn a little bit more about ourselves too. Come meet others, nature and yourself as we go exploring.

Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge Nature Walk

Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge

• What we'll do Come join us as we get outside and get some fresh (maybe cold, maybe warm, you just never know around here) air!! We chose this particular time because several of our volunteers have seen a ton of wildlife activity in the past at INWR this time of the year. We will be meeting in the parking lot of the visitor's center, 1101 Casey Rd . From there we will head out to a trail and an overlook or two. Everyone is welcome to come and go as they please. This is not a brisk hike as it is a exploration of nature. We have several photographers and bird watchers, so we take our time on the walk and stop a lot. You are welcome to go at whatever pace you like, however our naturalist leading the walk will be making a lot of stops to ensure people don't miss what nature has to show. You are not committed to stay the entire day, you can leave at any time that is convenient for you. • What to bring To make your time more enjoyable, you may want to consider bringing binoculars and/or a camera. Also bring food for lunch or a snack and water to stay hydrated. Dress in layers if it is chilly as the swamp can be colder and windier than where you live. • Important to know
