What we're about

Hey!

This is a community meetup for creative coders, new media artists, pixel tinkerers, arduino masters, nerds, habitants of virtual and augmented realities and curious people.

Our mission is to spread knowledge about computational art, build bridges with other disciplines, support each other's projects and, maybe, inspire you to start your own... :)

Our meetups are free and open to all, regardless of age, origin, gender or experience. They are an opportunity to meet likeminded people, share inspiration and get creative together in a relaxed and safe environment. Beginners and first-timers should feel especially welcome!

We support the Berlin Code of Conduct ( http://berlincodeofconduct.org/ ).
Please make sure you agree with its content.

Trafó Kortárs Művészetek Háza

Hey! We are organising this event together with smART! XTRA. :) We discover open creative labs and their knowledge sharing strategy in this event. Rita Eperjesi, the founder of Creative Code Budapest will hold a presentation about the philosophy behind the common meetups and the relation of technology and self-awareness. Minkó Mihály puts us up to Databánya's data visualization projects and connections between different information bases. Claire Fristot / A-li-ce / Alice FWonderland French-born visual artist introduce VJ Open Lab Berlin’s activities. She also runs the Women VJ Program to bring more female artists into the visual performing field. Concerned by gender and ecology’s issues, she takes part to international symposiums. Interested in identities and memory issues, she uses different techniques such as drawing, animation and video in order to create her hybrid time collages in motion. At the end of the evening A-li-ce will present an audiovisual live set for the audience. Community Meetup // Creative Code BP x smART! XTRA x channeling >> Art&Tech

Hey! Creative Code Budapest meetups are always community meetups, but this this will be a community meetup EVEN MORE. :) The whole point of the meetups is to get to know each other, but usually we just run through the introduction part, so we can listen to the speakers' presentations more. But now there won't be any speakers. I mean, anybody can be a speaker. You can have 3 min to talk, and we are the most curious about WHAT'S BUZZING IN YOUR MIND LATELY? So if you feel superinspired by a Marshmallow Laser Feast VR experience, show us the project! If you can't stop thinking about prototyping your robot giraffe, tell us about it! If you just finished polishing your brand new interactive plant sculpture, let us try it! There is no right or wrong, better or worse, or any judgement. Only a projector, a computer and nice humans. And probably some beer. Please, don't overstress showing your stuff, it's not a business pitch, it's not a portfolio night, it's just normal people talking and being curious. Luckily, we have co-organisers and co-communities, so hopefully, there won't be an akward silence at the beginning, and the participants of the channeling » Art&Tech workshop will show what's on their mind, and also smART! XTRA humans can jump in with some inspiration bombs. We are all looking forward to get to know you! More details about the space will come soon!

Creative Code Budapest #1 // the School of Machines edition

Hey! This will be our first community meetup! What to expect? - nice, opened and curious people - 3 short talks to feed our brains with some new inspiration - hanging out, getting to know each other, maybe making up future plans for collaborations or exhibitions together. As my nest for learning about art&tech was the School of Machines in Berlin, and Rachel is going to be in Budapest for a week, I thought it's a good start to have peeps from the schoolofma talking about what they care about first. So the first speaker will be Rachel Uwa, the founder of School of Machines, Making and Make-Believe (www.schoolofma.org) and of Creative Code Berlin, an artist, educator, and organiser whose background is in audio engineering and vfx compositing. She will talk about the human need for creativity or whatever she wants to, she is brilliant. Vladimir Razhev will talk about 4D sound! It's good to know about Vladimir that he was involved with in projects in all fields of sound engineering: in live as a stage technician in many festivals, for example in Music Tech Fest Berlin, in film production as a boom operator and sound recordist for advertisement and documentaries, and also as a 4D Sound operator at MONOM. In the case Rita Eperjesi (www.rita.cloud) figures out where to borrow an HTC Vive with a computer, she will show her VR project, the Surface, if not, she will talk about social VR or clouds. And the meetup will take place at Meetlab (www.meetlab.hu), so probably you will also get to know a bit about what the Meetlab guys are up to! We are all looking forward to seeing you!
