Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate Prerelease

Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate features the return of Commander Draft. Commander Draft is a unique Limited format combining Commander's multiplayer gameplay and rules with drafting 20-card boosters to build a deck to match.

The Battle for Baldur's Gate prerelease pack each contains the following:

• 3 Draft Boosters (20 cards in each)
• 1 foil, year-stamped rare or mythic rare
• 1 Dungeon Card
• 1 Magic: The Gathering Arena code card

A Dungeon Card is a unique card that shares the same mechanic as Dungeon Cards from Adventures in the Forgotten Realms. The card is not included in a player's deck or sideboard and is activated by the Initiative mechanic.

However, keep in mind that the Adventures in the Forgotten Realms Dungeon Cards are not making a return for Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate.

This event will use the three draft boosters found in each player's prerelease pack. For every pick, players take two cards at a time.

After the draft, players build a 60-card deck. All other Commander rules apply with one exception: the Singleton rule does not apply. You may play as many copies of a card as you draft of it. Players may always use Faceless One and a Background as a commander, even if they didn't draft one.

Like typical Commander play, this will not be structured into a tournament as such; this will be a Player List Only event. After drafting in pods of 8, players will be split into 4-player free-for-all matches.

If players would like to play with the same group after finishing their first match or mix up the groups that is just fine and up to them. Every player who finishes a game will receive 1 Set Booster Pack for participation, the winner of each pod will receive an additional Set Booster Pack.

Prerelease at Home Kits will also be available.
