First Fall Meetup: Moisture and Mass Timber

Details
What is checking and cracking and why does it happen? How does wood, and mass timber, interact with moisture in its environment during service, and how does that affect performance and serviceability? What protective precautions are necessary to cover timbers during construction? What detailing is just...wrong?
Designing with mass timber has opened many new questions and considerations surrounding detailing and the role that moisture plays during construction and throughout service life. Join TDI this September at our first fall meetup to listen to a few guest panelists discuss their expert experience in the field, and to openly discuss all things moisture and mass timber.
We are honored to be joined by:
Brad Nile, Project Executive at Andersen Construction
Jeff Morrell, Director of the National Centre for Timber Durability and Design Life
Mariapaola Riggio, Assistant Professor in Wood Science and Engineering, OSU
As always there will light refreshments and a cash bar. We look forward to seeing you!
