This is a one-hour INTRO session. We'll have a two-hour CONVERSATION about the book Wednesday February 24th, at 5PM PT/ 8PM ET.

This session is a formal introduction to the book. Participants receive a brief primer that introduces the author, lays out the book’s main points, and notes questions we might ask to fuel our thinking and energize engagement. The group gathers later in the month to discuss the book together and in small groups.

ANTIRACISM?

We often hear this term and aren’t sure what it means, exactly. It can seem perplexing — who's not against racism? What does it mean to be ANTIRACIST? Isn’t everyone?

NYT best-selling author Ibram Kendi provides a new answer in HOW TO BE AN ANTIRACIST. An influential voice on race in America, he writes to help us understand and uproot racism and inequality in our society — and in ourselves.

Join us to introduce our February BOOK CLUB selection: Ibram Kendi’s “How To Be An AntiRacist”.

About the CPL BOOK CLUB

Discover the books people are reading to cross party lines.

As much as we might love other media forms, it’s reading good books that best helps us understand the world. Extended prose is the most effective way to communicate complex ideas. That makes sharing a bookwith friends such a rich and rewarding experience — especially when we see things differently.

Introducing the CPL BOOK CLUB: a space to discover the joys of reading with others who want to bridge our differences and explore issues that divide us. Each month we take up a book that provides a platform for warm and engaging conversation. Participants receive a brief primer that introduces the author and lays out the book’s main points to fuel our thinking and energize engagement.
