BRGR&BEER will be closing in February so this month's drinks will be at Matthews Yard to say goodbye and celebrate their legendary burgers! For those of you who want a nice relaxed drink and not necessarily a meal to accompany it, Croydon Eats Out brings you a regular opportunity to meet, drink and have a nibble - well, it has to involve some sort of eating! When you arrive, please look out for the Meet Up sign or ask at the bar as we have booked an area. Whether you'd prefer to dive straight in to conversation with other CEO members or would like an introduction is entirely up to you, so look out for Katherine and Ben who are your hosts. Travel: Please check the TFL website (http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/) to plan your route. Matthews Yard is off Surrey Street. Ground rules: • This is a social networking event - This is the place to have a nice chat over a drink, meet new people and exchange ideas. If you're coming to sell or pitch your business, dish out flyers or business cards, this isn't the event for you. Likewise, this isn't a dating event either. • Mingle - This is a great chance to get up and mingle with everyone, meet lots of people and have a wide variety of conversations, so take the opportunity! There is no structure to the night so dipping in and out of conversations will be entirely up to you. • Your event hosts - If you feel any need to speak with us during the evening, please feel free. We are there to help the night run smoothly and help you have a great time :)
This month's dinner club will be held at Wei Dao (previously Noodle 23) near the Croydon flyover. They offer wide range of nutritious and healthy Chinese, Japanese, Thai and South Asian dishes and have received good reviews (https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g504167-d11926975-Reviews-Wei_Dao-Croydon_Greater_London_England.html) For more information about the venue and to see a copy of their menu please see their website: http://www.noodle23.com/ The venue photo is by Kake: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/25073237604/ - - - - - - - - - - Travel: If you are arriving by public transport, please use the TFL journey planner (https://tfl.gov.uk/plan-a-journey/) to review your travel time and plan your journey to the restaurant. If you are arriving by car, please use the awesome power of Google Maps to plot the best route - unless you have your own GPS. Important notes: - If you will be arriving after 7.15pm, please send Ben or Katherine a heads-up message. Sometimes restaurants request that unoccupied places are put up for grabs for walk-in customers so your place can't be guaranteed if you're unexpectedly late. - The organiser fee of £2 will be collected on the night, so please bring some coinage. - If you cannot come, please change your RSVP in advance. This ensures members aren't disappointed in missing out. Regular "No-Shows", those who RSVP yes but don't turn up, will be removed from the group to enhance the experience for others.
This month we will be heading a little further south to Amera Rani in South Croydon, a well-reviewed (https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g504167-d2667377-Reviews-or20-Amera_Rani-Croydon_Greater_London_England.html) Indian restaurant with some interesting dishes on the menu (http://www.amerarani.co.uk/menu). Photo: Bob Walker (https://www.flickr.com/photos/rjw1/7864029594/) The restaurant is on the Brighton Road. The nearest bus stop is Sanderstead Road (served by the 60, 166 and 407 routes from central Croydon) and it's a 10 minute walk from Purley Oaks railway station. For more information you can see the Amera Rani website (http://www.amerarani.co.uk/), including an online version of their menu (http://www.amerarani.co.uk/menu). The restaurant is cash-only, so please withdraw some cash beforehand. There is a petrol station a short distance away with a cash point if need be but it'll be easier if you please come prepared! - - - - - - - - - - The Croydon Curry Club is held on the first or last Monday of every month.
