What we're about

Hello - My name is Matt and this group will now combine classic suspense, mystery, unusual, bizarre, fun, quirky movie and TV shows of all types. They can range from the 1930s to modern day. The themes will include (but not be limited to) drama, suspense, action, comedy, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and many times campy and ridiculous plots. I like to occasionally show "truly bad" movies that are unintentionally hilarious and entertaining as well. Typically I will start at 6:00pm with a mix of 30 to 60 min TV shows and feature films. Join us for a great meal and fun movie night. You can arrive at any time during the evening and watch some or all of the films. Your choice!!

Please consider joining my other related Meetup Group as the shows and movies may be to your liking: Vintage Movie Lovers - https://www.meetup.com/Vintage-Movie-Lovers/

I look forward to your visit!!

Thanks Matt

EARLY SHOW

6:00PM – The Mentalist – TV Series (2008 - 2015)
Season 1 – Episode TBD

For years Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) has served as an independent consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation, earning a reputation for unusual methods and disregard for protocol -- not to mention his former career as a "psychic" -- while using his link with the department to hunt Red John, the serial killer who murdered his wife and daughter. He works closely with a by-the-book Senior Agent Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney) and her team. Jane’s unorthodox antics both frustrate and perplex the agents as they solve a multitude of crimes.

MAIN FEATURE

7:10 pm – A History of Violence (2005) – 96 min, R-rated, Drama -Thriller

Director: David Cronenberg

Stars: Viggo Mortensen, Maria Bello, Ed Harris, William Hurt

Sorry, no details. Best to watch this movie with no give-a-ways…..
One of my favorite thriller movies of the 2000s, Director David Cronenberg assembles a superb cast in this captivating and methodical story-telling, finalizing in a compelling climactic conclusion.
“Without conceding any of his iconoclastic vision, Cronenberg has turned a genre film with classic Western overtones into a gripping psychological drama that examines the duality of man and his infatuation with the art of violence (Jeff Myers, Metro Times, Detroit).”
Caution* - this movie is R-rated for a reason!
