Sunset Hike!

Join us for a fun, social, evening walk up to the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook! The sun will be setting as we walk up, and by the time we get to the top we'll have a wonderful panoramic view of the city lights!

Address: (junction of) Hetzler Rd & Jefferson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90232

Arrival Time & Place: We'll meet between 6:50pm and 7:00pm by the large, concrete road-side sign for the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook (at the junction of Jefferson and Hetzler, CA 90232). We'll start walking at 7:00.

Fitness Level: This is a fairly easy hike, but it will still be enough to get our hearts pumping and muscles toned. Being a very social group, I'm sure we'll be having some fun conversations as we walk - our fitness goals never outweigh our social ones!

Parking: Park at street level; don't drive up the hill to park. Although there's free parking all along Jefferson, it's often too busy. Therefore I recommend parking along Holdrege Ave (the nearest road to the east). (This address will take you there: 5959 Bowcroft St, Los Angeles, CA 90232 - just be sure to park on the street and not in a business parking lot.)

Dogs: Dogs aren't allowed on this particular trail. Sorry!

Weather: It's not very often that I need to cancel a hike due to bad weather, but if it is bad enough I'll post my decision here at 5:30pm on the day of the hike!

Duration: This hike lasts about an hour.

Responsibility: When walking in the evening hours, the floor becomes less visible, and the risk of tripping up on uneven surfaces increases. By RSVP'ing Yes for this event you are accepting full responsibility for your health and well-being during the hike. If you wish to bring a small flashlight with you, you may do so (most people are fine without one), but please keep it pointing straight down at your feet.
