JOIN US TO WELCOME 2018 ! Our meeting will consist of open forum for discussion, as always. For newcomers, our past topics have included laws pertaining to death and dying, near-death experiences and ancient burial ceremonies. If something's been on your mind about your eventuality, come on in and let's discuss it. We look forward to seeing you all. We would like to mention that our starting time for the meeting is 6:30 p.m. Out of courtesy for our group, timely attendance would be very much appreciated. You're welcome to come at 6:00 to get your dinner and have a bite with us before the meeting. Our meeting will end at 8:00 and thereafter, anyone who'd like to stay and talk with one another for the remainder of the hour we have booked there, most certainly is welcome to do so. A few points to remember when attending our meetings: - mutual respect is to be shared between all members and guests - staying on topic regarding death and its related subjects is key to the discussions of The Death Cafe - a $5 donation is appreciated to help support the costs of this meet-up group and expand our group to unlimited membership status Our Akron Chapter so looks forward to the amazing topics we'll be discussing in 2017. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to message us. Roe and Rocknrobin

What we're about

The Death Café is a discussion group about death and its related topics. The goal of the café is to increase awareness of death with the view of helping people make the most of their finite lives. The Death Café meetings are confidential and not-for-profit. Guiding principles are that participants respect one another's beliefs and avoid trying to change others' viewpoints. The Death Café is not a bereavement or grief support group or end-of-life planning session.

The Death Cafe' is an international group (over 2,000 cafes across the world). Topics change for every meeting. Come and see what we're about. It's a lot of great conversation and will certainly enlighten most. Donations are encouraged to help our membership grow and keep our group online. Our group is currently full, however, feel free to contact us to inquire about scheduled meet-ups, if you cannot see them listed on Meet-up. Walk-ins are welcome. Usually, we meet the third Friday of the month at Panera, Howe Ave., Akron, Ohio. Thank you and we hope to see you. We also have a Facebook presence, so feel free to glean information from this page:
