Cyber Breakfast: Hands-on worksop for developers

Let’s have a real hackathon. But I don’t mean hacking into peoples websites - that’s illegal. I mean hacking into our own systems (and defending them). We’ve built a comfy browser accessible platform that boots a bunch of servers up for your hacking pleasure. We’ve got both guided learning labs and “you’re on your own” challenge labs. Let’s have some fun, work together and learn some fancy security stuff.

This meetup is first and foremost for developers as you get to hack and defend servers (Bash experience helps). There are beginner labs available and I'll be there to help, but some backend experience is needed to actually benefit from this workshop.

We’ll be hosting an hour long morning event (this one) to get your appetites going and a 3 hour event in the evening on the 18th (https://www.meetup.com/Cyber-Breakfast/events/243876562/). The second one will have more labs and time to get into some nitty gritty details.

In any case there will be snacks and drinks so you have no excuse not to come! Get your laptop and bring friends.

Topics covered: XSS, SQL Injection, CSRF, Command Injection and others (depending on your wishes). The challenges are on a variety of topics.

Notice that this is a hands-on workshop. Without your laptop you can’t get a piece of the action.
