OWASP presents an exciting day packed with discussions and presentations about the latest application security techniques Hear from TOP Professionals in the cyber security community like Ken Belva who will be kicking off the panel at 10:30am with Ondrej Krehel, Ramy Ramirez, Gregory Richardson (The Tea Drinking Hacker) and Maria Filipakis. This panel will offer perspective into the cyber landscape from an international, federal, private, state and local level.

New York State Department of Financial Services 23 NYCRR 500 will be covered by Maria Filipakis who will discuss the law and offer her insight into navigating the new legal cyber landscape.

Gregory Richardson and Jesse Netz will be your guides in this session: OpenDXL Live Hacking during lunch. This will cover the open standards based protocol for sharing threat intelligence and other urgent alerts seamlessly across competitive borders. They will discuss some “interesting” use cases involving smart homes, and IoT devices. Next they will dive deeper into using OpenDXL to tie bind various security tools (from different vendors) into an automated, orchestrated security infrastructure using a few simple lines of Python code.

Khizar Sheikh will offer his insight into data security, forensic, insurance, and public relations as it relates to cyber security innovation. Mr. Sheikh will be speaking on behalf “white hat” hackers and unique legal issues that their work implicates, including counseling on contracts and threat reporting.

Hacking Web Application API’s with Nicole Becher and Friends will highlight flagship projects like Zap, Top Ten, ModSecurity and a few lab projects like Webgoat and Juice for the OWASP community and beyond.
