• 😱Invasion of the Vendor Snatchers🤖

    Signal Sciences

Quest Diagnostics suffered a catastrophic data breach, the count is now up to 25 million patient records. AMCA handled the billing, they filed for Chapter 11 as a result. One example of many, where a vendor has been given keys to the most sensitive part of of their client's business, and ended up costing them more than they bargained. Supply chain or vendor attacks are on the rise. Smaller vendors, law firms, and other folks that support an organizational ecosystem tend to not be required to be secure. Trust, but verify of the supply chain is not something that is well understood, resourced, or considered vital. Join us on Wednesday Sept 4th @ 6pm at Signal Sciences in Culver City to hear from our panel of experts! Panelists: 1) Michael Dierickx: Director PSIRT at United Technologies Corporation (UTC), Advisory Board, Featured/Keynote Speaker - https://www.linkedin.com/in/mdierickx/ 2) Shay Colson: Director CyberClarity360 @ Duff & Phelps -https://www.linkedin.com/in/shaycolson/ 3) Shane Thoney: Managing Director, Enterprise Information Security - https://www.linkedin.com/in/shanethoney/

  • Cyber Snake Oil - A Panel Discussion

    Western Asset

The average amateur golfer should be hitting a golf ball 400 yds (its more like 240 yards)! Average golfers can't hit the ball straight, let alone the amazing distance of 400 yds. Cyber vendors offer similar claims, inflated at best, as worst, utterly false. Most of us prefer to do business w folks and vendors we trust. What you can expect to learn & discuss: 1) Do you feel like its nearly impossible to decipher or validate cyber vendor claims? 2) Do you feel like you're being sold a bag of risk instead of a bag of goods? 3) Are we really reducing breach costs, simplifying cyber risk, and properly transferring risk? Panelists: 1) Aaron Guzman - Head of Automotive & IOT @ AON (https://www.linkedin.com/in/scriptingxss/) 2) Christine "Panda" Tang (https://www.linkedin.com/in/fuzzingpanda/) 3) Surprise Guest!
