Weekend In Brighton - Provisional

Details

The date is very much provisional and this event will only go ahead when the disputes on Southern Railway are settled - If you are interested in this weekend but can't make the date shown please sign up and I will contact everyone to get the best date.

Brighton is a vibrant cosmopolitan city on the south coast of England.

Made famous by the Prince Regent who later became George IV and turned Brighton from a small fishing village and farming community to an elegant regency town. The royal pavilion , once home of the Prince Regent is a must see, built in the style of an Indian palace it's amazing from the outside and stunning inside.

There are around 800 restaurants in Brighton catering for every taste, so no problem with choice.

The Lanes are all that remain of the old village and is now full of quirky shops , well worth a wander.

The newest attraction is the British Airways i360 , described as a vertical cable car - when it reaches the top there are stunning views across Sussex and all along the coast. From the newest to the oldest Volks Railway the world's oldest electric railway - worth a trip but don't expect any luxury its bumpy and noisy.

Accommodation will be a hotel or may be a Travelodge / Premier Inn type. It won't be hostel type whatever I book will be rooms with an en-suite.

At the moment I'm just gauging interest , if you are interested please RSVP yes , you are not committing to anything. If there is enough interest I will do some research and then you will have the chance to make a firm booking knowing all the details. The date is very much provisional so if you like the idea but can't do this date please RSVP yes and say that.

Travel It's about a 3 hour drive - train is also an option it's about 4hr 20m from Cardiff with one change at Fareham (that's near Portsmouth) and that route totally avoids London , once we have a date we can get tickets , as a guide they were available in 2017 from £37 return, going from Cardiff on friday and returning Sunday evening.
We can also car share so if you want to go but don't have transport again RSVP yes and add a comment to that effect.
