Does this feel like Spam? How to fix it

From: Don W.

Hi All,
We have lost a half dozen members in the last few hours.   Obviously I need to repeat what I posted sometime before:
We have lost a handful of our members because they were on the email list for our meetup. I fully expected that this would happen. It is very easy to fix it.
If you are on the web page for the DC Atheist Meetup there will be menu pick labeled “My Profile” off to the far right. When you click on that menu pick an option will be “Email and Notifications.” After clicking on that option there will be an option near the bottom which allows you to turn off Mailing List messages. Another available option is to get one summary email for all messages in a given day.
We don't want to be losing member just because they don't know that they have this control over how they receive emails from a given meetup group.
Warn regards to all,
Don Wharton

Subject: [atheists-27] atheists & politics

Given the avalanche of dumbass posts littering my in box, I will have to unsubscribe from this group.  The notion of a common political platform for atheists is laughable, as is the notion that atheists are more rational or progressive about anything other than the separation of church and state.  Logically, you should start a separate group for liberal or progressive (which means what, anyway?) atheists and humanists and carry on your discussions there, excluding of course the libertarian shits whose posts I now have to delete by the dozens.  There is nothing more futile than seeking political consensus, or even critical thinking, among atheists.

Please Note: If you hit "REPLY", your message will be sent to everyone on this mailing list ([address removed])
