What we're about
This group is for gay/bi men and gay-friendly guys who either work from home, are semi-retired, or fully retired and have time during the day (mostly weekday but open to early evenings and weekend day events too) to socialize with others.
There are tons of groups geared for people available after work or weekends, but less so when you're wanting to do things with others during the workday. We will hopefully skew toward more active interests (eg. walking after a meal, etc.) and we're open to all ages (18+).
Activites will vary depending on the interests of those that join and can include dining out, nature hikes/urban walks, museums, biking, coffee chat, yoga (clothed or nude yoga depending on interest), photography, day trip exploration, etc. We also host conversation events around selected topics that are of interest to our members. Once you join, you will receive a welcome email containing TWO survey links which will help me understand your activities & interests and conversation topics you might enjoy for future events. No real limits on activities if there's interest among some members to attend.
Events will be held in the metro area - including Arlington, Alexandria, DC and may also include day trips outside the metro area. Some may also be pet-friendly (eg. a walk in Old Town Alexandria).
So, if you have some free time during the weekday (and select weekends) and desire to meet other outgoing, active, friendly guys -- join us!
Please be mindful of your schedule and intent when you RSVP for an event. No-shows or frequent last minute cancellations will reduce the quality of our meetup for all. If you learn you can no longer attend after you respond YES, please simply change your response to NO to avoid disappointing others in the group.
If you're open to hosting an event, I'd love to hear from you.
If you don't have a face profile pic, please update with one. I prefer that all who RSVP for events have a profile face pic (not blank or a logo or some other generic photo). It helps build a community within the group and put a face with a name when we meet in person. If you have a reason you can not post a public face pic, please contact me directly to review options.
As I look for new ways for our members to connect (especially in real life via events), I have added another online opportunity via this new "closed" Facebook group @ https://www.facebook.com/groups/dcgaybuddies/

“People with high levels of what psychologists call social integration — those who participate in a broad range of relationships that consist of both intimate and weak ties — tend to be healthier and happier.”
