What we're about

DC Design + Donuts is an inclusive informal co-working session. People of all skill levels bring their personal projects--building an app, writing a blog, going through design tutorials. Feel free to come and work, help, socialize or just have a chat! There is an introduction period where we all say our names and what we're working on. And that's about where the structure ends, everything after that is self-organized.

Bring your laptop! We'll have coffee, pastries, and cool people to meet.

Welcome to Design & Donuts; a monthly gathering for designers to learn, work, collaborate and grow. This month we welcome Michael Asaro, User Experience Specialist at Northrop Grumman, as he takes us on a tour of the future! "We are standing on the precipice of great change in how society perceives the world around it. Over the next 10 years, the rise of Mixed Reality, the Internet Of Things, and Natural Language interfaces will kick off the era of Ambient Computing. I'll start with a quick primer to set the historical stage, and then share some stories to help you imagine what will become possible." Learn some of the profound changes coming in the tech industry over the next decade and designers are poised to lead this transformation. Michael's presentation will be followed by an hour of informal networking, fun and collaboration. This can be a great opportunity to brainstorm or workshop issues you're facing with projects!
