Details
Join us at Arcadia Power for "Using ES6 to make a more efficient jQuery" by Jordan Kasper! While jQuery used to rule the web for interacting with the Document Object Model (DOM), many of its key concepts have made their way into the core of ECMAScript (and thus JavaScript). In this live coding session Jordan will show attendees how to use vanilla JavaScript (ES5 and ES6) concepts to recreate a minimal, more efficient DOM traversal and manipulation library with essentially the same API as jQuery. He'll cover why you might not need jQuery, but also where you might still need your favorite library of old.
Please make sure to note the venue, thanks to Arcadia Power for inviting us back! (But we are still looking for our new permanent home!)

We hope to see all of you at Arcadia Power for our February meetup! Bring your questions for Jordan, and if you're looking for a job (or hiring) be prepared to connect with others!
As usual, food will be provided, but otherwise BYO_!
