- DC/MD/VA Sailing -

We are an eclectic group from DC, MD, and VA who share an enthusiasm for sailing. We sail a variety of fun, fast, and safe J-Boats to which I have access, including J-105s, J-32s, and J-80s. The J-105s and J-32s are over 30 feet long with comfortable cockpits and cabins, and the J-80s are about 27 feet long. All three are keel boats, meaning they are stable in aggressive conditions. We sail on the Chesapeake Bay and its contiguous rivers, creeks, and lesser bays, in the vicinity of Annapolis. Some of us are experienced sailors and others are novices – anyone with an interest in sailing and a willingness to learn is welcome. Depending upon crew skills and availability, we may also participate in Thursday evening races. Whether we are sailing fast in brisk winds or motoring, picnicking, and swimming on warm, windless days, the goal is always to have fun, make new friends, and be safe. Occasionally, after sailing, we will meet at a local Annapolis restaurant or bar for a bit of "après sail" cheer. And from time to time we will also find waterfront locals in the DC area for social events.
